The Roxana Williams Food Pantry opened March 3, 2007. It was the idea of Pastor Dr. Damien Epps and church members, to meet the community needs by serving much needed food and resource information to the community. After partnering with the San Francisco Food Bank , we adopted the name from a long time member of the church” Sister Roxana Williams” a former teacher, leader, wife and mother. She exemplified the vision of service in her daily walk, always helping someone regardless of race or social status.

The Pantry is housed in the educational building of the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church which was established in 1945 by the Rev. Ruth Johnson.

The pantry operates every Saturday with a team of 25 volunteers. Since its inception it has grown to provide food and resource information to over 1000 individuals monthly.

The Roxana Williams Food Pantry’s principle purpose is to help improve the lives of the

impoverished, economically disadvantaged, and socially disadvantaged by providing them with free food, information, support, and assistance.
